The MTA-MATE Early Childhood Research Group was created based on the research history of the Institute of Education of the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences and the Institute of Education of the University of Szeged. The goal of the research group is to develop health and environmental education for the 4–8-year-old age group, and to renew the related educational programs. In the framework of the project, standards related to the examination of health and environmental habits are developed. Based on the standards, a new diagnostic measuring device will be developed, which will be suitable for assisting everyday pedagogical practice. A development program will be created and tested that helps in the formation of health and environmental habits. The development of standards involves large-scale data collection. The evaluation of the effectiveness of the development program will be carried out in a control group experimental arrangement. In the tests, medium and senior group kindergarteners, as well as first and second grade elementary school pupils will participate. The head of the research group is Dr. Podráczky Judit.
