In the 2025-2029 application cycle, the research team set itself the goal of developing and testing the effectiveness of programs supporting the kindergarten-school transition. The transition from kindergarten to school is a crucial event in the lives of young children, which influences their success in school in the long term. Although the topic has been present in the Hungarian literature for decades and numerous development programs have been launched, impact assessments have only rarely accompanied them. As a result, there have been no sufficiently well-founded answers to the problems of the transition to date. Many children experience the start of school with anxiety, which is related to the fundamental changes occurring simultaneously in their lives.
The research group includes researchers, doctoral students, students of the MATE Institute of Educational Sciences, and practitioners in public education.
